Lunchtime Forum

San Francisco’s historic North Beach neighborhood is poised to enjoy a new, larger library branch with more room for books and materials, language collections and computers, space for story times and poetry readings, and an accessible, earthquake-safe facility for all library users. The new library will also enable a redesigned park with 12,000 square feet of expanded green space in this dense, urban district and more opportunities for open play. This much-discussed civic project, which trades a parking lot for a bigger park and expanded library services, will serve as a future gateway to the beloved and famous North Beach neighborhood. This forum will feature a virtual tour of the plans for the new North Beach Library and expanded Joe DiMaggio Park with architect Marsha Maytum and representatives from San Francisco Public Library and Recreation and Parks Department.
