Evening Forum

The effects of poverty look different across San Francisco’s varied neighborhoods. How has the recession affected homeowners in the Bayview, one of the last neighborhoods in San Francisco where there is a significant African American population of homeowners? Has the recession affected their ability to stay in their homes and how has the foreclosure crisis that is sweeping the nation affected their community? Join SPUR for an evening forum hosted by Jeff Buckley, senior advisor to Mayor Lee, Ed Donaldson, housing counseling director for SFHDC and Grace Martinez, lead organizer with SF Alliance for Californians for Community Empowerment (ACCE) where we will explore how the foreclosure crisis is impacting the neighborhood and the community’s response to the nationwide problem.
