Though the company recently unveiled plans for a brand-new Frank Gehry-designed campus, the paint on Facebook’s current facilities is practically still drying. Opened in 2011, Facebook’s Menlo Park campus tests the idea of injecting urban forms into an otherwise highly suburban community. Built around a pseudo-urban central street, the company’s campus uses the ideas of transparency and openness to blend the boundaries between work and play. Take a tour of the Facebook friend factory with one of its designers, Randy Howder, design strategist for Gensler, and learn how the world’s most prominent social network operates on a daily basis.
