Strengthening the Bay Area’s Food System

Lunchtime Forum

Image by Sergio Ruiz for SPUR

The Bay Area food economy — from farm to table to compost and back — is an important sector in both the urban and rural areas of the region. Though the region has seen a recent surge of interest in food grown and produced locally, many of the farms and ranches that serve as a foundation for the local food system are at risk of being developed or are struggling to remain viable. Come for a discussion of these trends and the policy efforts that are underway to strengthen our regional food system.
