Nearly one trillion dollars worth of goods flow to or through Northern California each year. While most everyone in the region benefits from making it easier to move goods by boat, train or truck, the benefits are more narrowly felt by communities adjacent to major “goods movement” corridors. How do we balance the demands of the economy with the local impacts of freight movement on neighborhoods, and which investments can benefit both?
