Located at the western edge of the Mount Sutro Open Space Reserve, the Kirkham Heights Apartments are a product of 1950s planning and architecture. A bold new proposal intends to greatly increase the density of the site, while connecting the residential living spaces with the surroundings, preserving the current forest space, creating new pedestrian greenbelts and staircases, improving access with new open plazas, and widening and activating the sidewalks. While working closely with current residents and the surrounding community, the proposed plan endeavors to demonstrate creative design that addresses the City’s need for more housing. Join us for a tour of the existing site with the project team to learn more about the vision for The Kirkham Project in the Inner Sunset. Co-presented with the San Francisco Housing Action Coalition.
