London, being one of the most expensive cities in the world, faces a number of housing challenges. The London Plan, a strategic plan for London that sets out a fully integrated economic, environmental, transportation and social framework for the city's next two decades, seeks to remedy those issues. Amongst a number of goals, the plan sets the highest ever housing targets for the city: annual production of at least 42,000 homes, with an aim to achieve 49,000 homes, of which at least 17,000 should be designated affordable. Hear from one of the document's key authors about the impetus behind The London Plan, and how its lofty goals will be implemented.
