San Francisco’s southeastern waterfront will experience significant growth in the next decade. The area, which has been home to shipping docks, a military base and a sports stadium is rich with underutilized land and the development of these sites will take time. How can we make the most of these raw urban spaces before they are transformed into new mixed-use communities? Join us for a discussion about opportunities for interim use of these sites, and how thoughtful activation programs can provide amenities and build community.
Panelists will include members of the development teams for these projects:
+ Fran Weld / San Francisco Giants (Mission Rock)
+ Jack Sylvan / Forest City (Pier 70)
+ Mark Luckhardt / Lennar Urban (San Francisco Shipyard/Candlestick Point)
+ Jonathan Manzo / PG&E (Hunters Point Power Plant)
