POSTPONED: Understanding Good Food Purchasing

Lunchtime Forum

Due to unexpected delays in associated projects, we've elected to postpone this forum until early 2018. Look for a new date to be announced later this year. We apologize for any inconvenience that this might cause and hope that you'll be able to join us at the rescheduled program.

It's one thing to say you're buying good food, but it's another to actually track how well your ingredients stack up in terms of their impact on the environment, labor, animal welfare and more. Recently, the school districts in both Oakland and San Francisco committed to the Good Food Purchasing Program, which provides a framework and baseline assessments to do just that. These public agencies are pioneering ways to align their values with their procurement dollars. Come learn about this new tool, how it works and what good food purchasing is all about.
