Oakland’s Soda Tax: Six Months In

Evening Forum

Oakland voters passed a tax on soda in November 2016, and the city began collecting revenue from that tax the following summer. Six months later, has the process been successful, or are there still kinks that need to be worked out? Join us for a conversation about the city’s implementation of the soda tax, and learn how community members are engaging with city officials to guide how its revenue is spent. Co-presented by the American Heart Association.
