The representative seat from California's State Assembly District 18, encompassing portions of Oakland, Alameda, and San Leandro, has been vacant since previous the assemblymember, Rob Bonta, was appointed earlier this year to be California's Attorney General by Governor Gavin Newsom. To fill this position, a general election run-off is scheduled for August 31. With two qualified candidates in the race, how will you choose who to support? Come to this event to hear from both candidates, Janani Ramachandran and Mia Bonta, as they answer questions about the intersection of food and racial, economic and environmental justice.
