Solving the Bay Area’s affordable housing crisis requires more than funding—it takes a comprehensive, equity-focused approach that integrates innovative financing with bold policy solutions. Join us for a deep dive into the work of the Partnership for the Bay’s Future (PBF), a pioneering initiative that is successfully tackling the housing crisis by pairing investments with community-driven policy. Through its Policy Fund, PBF partners local governments with community-based organizations to co-create housing policies, which has led to the passage of 13 policies that center the voices of communities most impacted by housing instability. Meanwhile, PBF’s Family of Loan Funds addresses the financial barriers to affordable housing by providing the capital needed to preserve and produce housing at scale, financing over 4,700 affordable homes to date.
This discussion will showcase how PBF’s approach amplifies impact, addressing barriers to housing equity while fostering scalable, durable solutions. Learn from PBF’s outcomes, challenges, and insights, and gain practical strategies to implement similar solutions in your region.
This event also celebrates the release of the PBF Playbook, a comprehensive guide to its approach.
The event will start with a reception at 5:00PM in the Jim Chappell Member Lounge (1st floor), with the discussion starting at 5:30PM in Anne Halsted Hall (2nd floor.)
