Three years ago, SPUR undertook an initiative to envision a more equitable, sustainable and prosperous Bay Area for all and propose the bold strategies needed to get there. On May 13, we will release the completed SPUR Regional Strategy, providing a clear vision for the region’s next 50 years.

The Bay Area is a region of incredible diversity and phenomenal cultural, geographic and economic wealth. But it’s also a region with significant challenges, from sharp inequalities in income and employment opportunity to sky-high housing costs. And with more than four million new residents expected to move here over the next five decades, these inequities will only continue to grow — unless we take proactive and unified action as a region. What will it take to create a truly equitable and sustainable Bay Area in which all people can thrive?

Three years, two dozen policy reports and over 170 recommendations later, the SPUR Regional Strategy will land today! The next step will be working with partners across the Bay Area to implement these bold proposals. Come hear from SPUR’s team of policy researchers about this enormous effort and get answers to your questions about how we as a region can build the future we want.

Championing a Bay Area for All

To commemorate the release of the SPUR Regional Strategy, some of the Bay Area’s most inspiring leaders will discuss the value of regionalism and its role in advancing a future that everyone deserves. Join SPUR President and CEO Alicia John-Baptiste in conversation with Tomiquia Moss, Founder and CEO of All Home; Fred Blackwell, CEO of the San Francisco Foundation; and Alfredo Pedroza, Chair of the Metropolitan Transportation Commission.
