SPUR provides recommendations for the Downtown Oakland Specific Plan Alternatives Report, organized around five topic areas: growth and development, neighborhood character, land use and parking, transportation and public benefits. While overall SPUR supports the planning process and many of the recommendations put forth so far, the alternatives report does not provide a bold enough vision to enable Oakland to grow into its role as a major regional center.
