SPUR supports SB 50, the More HOMES Act, which will overcome barriers to the creation of infill homes in the right places — close to major transit and in high opportunity areas — throughout California. SB 50 is one important part of a statewide effort to plan and zone for housing at the appropriate scale to the housing shortage our state faces. This policy would create an inclusive mix of homes near transit and jobs, consistent with the goals of Plan Bay Area. It would spur the development of ‘missing middle’ housing types that are within reach of working families and blend into existing neighborhoods.
