In response to a referral from Supervisor Simitian and Supervisor Chavez calling for a countywide food system strategy, county staff recommended a multi-month work-planning process that will result in a plan coming back to the Board in early 2021. While we are supportive of the staff recommendation, SPUR, in coalition with more than 10 community based organizations, requests the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors take additional steps to implement the Good Food Purchasing Policy prior to 2021.
