As the region reopens, the fastest way to bring riders back to transit and improve the experience of current riders is to restore and increase transit service. However, VTA has not yet restored service hours and is planning to withdraw its annual operating and maintenance contribution from Caltrain. Yet if transit is too sparse, people will not use it. To that end: (1) we encourage VTA restore service hours to match current demand and (2) continue to support Caltrain's operating and maintenance needs in this biennial budget.
