SPUR and a coalition of organizations recommend adopting the Sugary Drink Tax Advisory Committee (SDDTAC) Budget recommendations in a letter to the Board of Supervisors. SPUR supports the recommendations of the SDDTAC not only because they would provide funding to programs that improve community health with an equity lens, but also because it is important that the soda tax revenue be spent in a way that is guided by the committee established by voters when the tax was passed at the ballot in 2016.
